I Harom koan

(Ferenczi llonának)

1 Koan III

Némaság a hang helyett.

De a némaság mi helyett?

2 Koan I

Töled távolabb-e?

Hozzád közelebb-e?

Töled se. Hozzád se.

Távol se. Közel se.

3 Koan II

Most már egyhelyben távolabb

Már csak egy nyom mind élesebbje

Tükrökben jár a szél

Egy arc egy kéz csontjaiba temetve

II Már csak azt a jövö idöt kívánom

(Dörney Lászlónak)

4 Koan Bel Canto

Már csak azt a jövő időt

kivánom, ami elmúlt.

Ne legyen több pillanatom,

ami előtte nem volt.

Feledhessen, ami leszek.

Az legyen, aki nélkül.

S én – mint aki félrehajol

Egy teljes térnyi szélből –

5 T. S. Eliot-érme

Nem hallom vissza már,

tükörzajából egy

hangom se tér meg:

most már csak néz beszédem.

III Három önarckép

(Wilheim Andrásnak)

6 Már mocsarasodom

Már mocsarasodom.

Ami külön-válik belőlem: süpped.

Csak egészben nem férek át önmagamon.

7 H. királyfi, mostohaapja elött

... Elgondolásaim nem oly titokzatosak,

sokkal nyilvánvalóbban félrekezelnek.

Például nyugtalanitóbb, hogy közben kezdődik majd

s egybemosódik a kettő.

Egy még túl, jobb már két, de

visszakeresnek onnan is.

Jobb lesz itt is ugyanilyen kevés.

8 Önarckép 1965-ből

Bocsánatkérő mosollyal

mint akinek rongyos a feje

madárijesztője a semminek

jársz-kelsz szíve-hagyott kegyelemben

I Three Koans

(for Ilona Ferenczi)

1 Koan III

Stillness instead of sound

But stillness instead of what?

2 Koan I

Farther from you?

Closer to you?

Neither from you, nor to you.

Neither far, nor close.

3 Koan II

Now, though still, receding

Leaving but an ever-sharpening trace.

Wind blowing in mirrors

A face buried in a hand's bones.

II Longing for the Future

(for László Dörney)

4 Koan Bel Canto

Now I only long for the future

which is gone.

May I have no more moments

that have not been before.

May it forget what's to become of me

Let it be without whom ...

And I as if dodging

Wind from the fullness of space.

5 T. S. Eliot Coin

I cannot hear it echoing

frroy its mirror-noise

no sound of mine returning:

now only my words are staring.

III Three Self-portraits

(for András Wilheim)

6 I am turning into a swamp.

1 am turning into a swamp.

What disintegrates from me, sinks.

Only the whole of me does not fit through myself.

7 Prince H. standing before his step-father

... My purposes are not all that mysterious,

more obviously I am misinterpreted.

For instance, it is more disturbing

that it will start meanwhile and the two will merge.

One is too, better is two, but

I shall be sought out again from beyond.

Better just as little, here, too.

8 Self-portrait from 1965

With an apologetic smile

Like one with a tattered head

Not even a scarecrow of a thing,

You stroll around in heart-rending grace

I Drei Koans

(für llona Ferenczi)

1 Koan III

Stille statt der Stimme

Aber woher die Stille?

2 Koan I

Ob ferner von dir?

Ob näher zu dir?

Weder von dir noch zu dir.

Weder Ferne noch Nähe.

3 Koan II

Auf der Stelle nun schon ferner

Nurmehr die Klarheit einer Spur

In Spiegeln weht der Wind

Gesicht verschüttet in Knochen einer Hand

II Zukünftiges will ich nur noch

(für László Dörney)

4 Koan Belcanto

Zukünftiges will ich nur noch,

das vergangen ist.

Keine Augenblicke mehr,

die zuvor nicht gewesen sind.

Vergessen, was ich sein werde.

So sei es, ohne jemand.

Und ich - der aus raumfüllendem Wind

sich zur Seite neigt.

5 T. S. Eliot-Münze

Ich höre sie nicht mehr,

aus ihrem Spiegellärm

kehrt meine Stimme nicht zurück:

Blicken nur noch die Worte.

III. Drei Selbstporträts

(für András Wilheim)

6 Versumpfe schon.

Versumpfe schon.

Was sich absondert von mir, versinkt.

Nur als Ganzes durch mich gehe ich nicht.

7 Prinz H., vor seinem Stiefvater

... Meine Gedanken sind nicht so rätselhaft,

behandeln mich sicher falsch.

wandelst umher in herz-verlassener Gnade
